Kitchen Coordinator
The Kitchen Coordinator position is a part–time, 5 day a week, 25-29 hour kitchen position that involves direct contact with consumer center members as well as Center Team staff while being supervised by the Human Resources Manager. The kitchen coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that all functions of the MHA Consumer Center kitchen run smoothly. This includes but is not limited to: menu and meal prep, inventory, serving, and kitchen cleanup. This position requires a valid PA driver’s license and the ability to drive a 15-passenger van in order to pick up food and supplies.
Responsibilities
- In conjunction with H.R. Manager, keep an inventory of all food and paper products to be used in the preparation and serving of lunches to MHA members.
- Also in conjunction with H.R. Manager, coordinate menus on a weekly rotating basis and insure that consistent inventory is maintained to facilitate the selected menus.
- Serve all menu items at the appropriate time and in the appropriate manner.
- After serving, kitchen must be cleaned and prepped for the next day.
- Cooler and freezer temperatures must be recorded daily, both in the kitchen and in the lower level.
- Product in the lower level food storage area must be stored appropriately and rotated according to food safety guidelines.
- Coordinate with volunteers and or staff assisting with preparation or serving so that appropriate safety & cleanliness standards are maintained.
- Project a positive image in or outside of the MHA.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Act 33/34 Clearance, Act 151 Clearance
- H.S. diploma or GED
- Food Safety Certification preferred at hiring or obtained within 90 days of hiring 4. Valid PA drivers license
- Knowledge of the Mission, Vision and Values of MHA
- Ability to follow policies and procedures of the MHA
- Ability to meet schedules, plan, take direction
- Subscribe to ethical standards of confidentiality
- Ability to be a team player
