Consumer Recovery Center
MHA’s Consumer Recovery Center is a safe environment for members to enjoy a wide range of social or educational activities or to just be. The main area of the Consumer Recovery Center accommodates recreational activities such as pool, ping-pong, movies or board games, as well as space for stimulating conversation and relaxation. The Consumer Recovery Center also provides members with activity rooms, a library, laundry facilities, computer center, lounge area, classroom, and a telephone where local calls can be made and received if necessary.
Consumer Center Activities
The Consumer/Recovery Center activities are dedicated to the enrichment, growth and wellness of adults residing in Erie County who receive mental health and/or drug & alcohol services. We are constantly adding new activities to enrich the lives of our members. What would YOU like to do here at MHA?
More Activities Available in the Consumer Center
Relaxation through Art: Working with hands provides a stress relieving action as well as a creative way to express feelings.
- Computer Lab: Available to consumers for creating documents, internet research, completing applications/referrals, job hunting and recreation
- Game Room: Pool table and other games offer opportunities to improve communication and camaraderie
- Social Time: Members have the opportunity to come to the center, have lunch, watch TV, meet people or just be comfortable in a safe environment
- Holiday celebrations: Give members something special to look forward to and a chance to do something different with their peers
- BINGO: Promotes good sportsmanship-winning or losing with dignity. Allows members to win hygiene items or household items
- Movies: Newer movies released recently are played for members to see a variety of genre with their peers. Gives members something in common to discuss
