Job Title: Warming Night Security Staff (As Needed)
Reports To: Center Team Leader
General Responsibilities:
This is a part-time position which does not have specific hours per week. Persons in this role maintain a safe, comfortable environment for persons in need of shelter on nights when winter temperatures are forecast to meet criteria for opening the MHA facility for a Warming Night. They must be able to maintain order in the Center while being supportive and helpful to persons using the Warming Center. These positions are available to existing MHA staff or to individuals only seeking these specific duties.
Specific Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Welcoming individuals to the Center and making sure all attendees are aware of rules and expectations.
2. In conjunction with co-workers, maintain order and enforce rules including requiring disruptive individuals to leave premises or contact police if necessary.
3. Be aware of resources available to shelterless persons in need of services
4. Respond to participants in distress in a supportive, respectful, but assertive manner.
5. Monitor all physical environments for safety, while protecting our material resources.
6. Recognize and manage crisis situations.
7. Assist volunteers to fulfill volunteer roles.
8. Provide role model for successful interaction skills, (assertiveness, conflict resolution, and boundary maintenance).
9. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
1. H.S. Diploma or GED
2. Have flexible availability on short notice to work from 11PM to 7AM
3. Act 33/34 Clearance. Act 151 Clearances.
4. Knowledge of the Mission, Vision and Values of MHA.
5. Ability to follow policies and procedures of the MHA.
6. Ability to meet schedules, plan, take direction.
7. Basic knowledge of internal resources as well as social service resources in the community.
8. Proven ability to interact with others compassionately yet assertively
9. Subscribe to ethical standards of confidentiality.
10. Ability to be a team player.

While performing the duties of this job, the staff is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear (hearing aid permitted). Specific vision abilities required by the job include peripheral and distance vision.
Staff is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and use legs to lift and or move up to 50 lbs.

SUMMARY:
The Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) will provide peer support services to consumers receiving services through Safe Harbor Behavioral Health (SHBH) Outpatient Clinic in both individual and group settings.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists consumers with identifying and attaining their personal recovery goals
Works to identify supports for consumers, and to help consumers to learn the skills to access these services
Outreaches and establishes trusting relationships to engage peers, and respects regulatory and agency policies on boundaries and confidentiality
Assists consumers to become empowered thru development of communication skills and self-advocacy skills
Introduces and models appropriate coping skills, recovery tools, and self-help strategies via appropriate self-disclosure
Reinforces and inspires hope and recovery while encouraging and supporting clients active participation in treatment
Promotes, helps, and facilitates WRAP planning
Utilizes and integrates feedback from colleagues and supervisors
Participates in Inter-Disciplinary Team meetings
Documents all relevant information and interactions according to SHBH policy
Attends required individual supervision (once/week), staff meetings, agency in-services, and identified trainings
Maintains continuing education requirements (18 hours annually, with 12 of those hours focused on peer support/recovery topics)
Consistently demonstrates internal and external quality customer service standards to all that request assistance, responding in a professional manner
Provides other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Self-identified individual who had received or is receiving mental health services
Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
Within the last three (3) years, has maintained at least 12 months of successful full or part-time paid or voluntary work experience or obtained at least 24 credit hours of post-secondary education
Two years experience in the human service field with a strong working knowledge of the mental health system and services
Demonstrates professionalism in verbal and written communication as well as working knowledge and comfort with use of computer
Successful completion of the County CPS training program
o WRAP Facilitator Training preferred
Acts 33/34 and FBI Fingerprint Clearances
I am attaching a current opening at Safe Harbor for a Certified Peer Specialist. The pay rate will be $13/hour. The position is per diem, 20 hours per week, with the expectation of 12 hours per week of productivity (meeting with clients one-on-one and in groups). The 12 hours/week will not begin immediately but will start within a reasonable time frame in order for orientation/training to occur and for a client caseload to be established.
